Pain Is The Silence Of A Broken Heart

Susana was a graduate, a young girl of 21. Her twinkling eyes spoke of her dreams, hopes and aspirations of happiness that were to come in her life. Susana looked beautiful with her flawless complexion.

There were many admirers who dreamt about her. She was a simple person much uninformed about her charm. Her eyes sparkled as her uncle informed that Sid was the boy who would be her groom. Susana was confident about her uncle's choice. He was her only relative who was alive, she loved him very much.

Within a week, her uncle declared her marriage with Sid. Susana's friends helped her get a complete body and hair care done in the best beauty clinic of the locality.

Susana was an attractive young woman and the guys of her batch were not happy to learn about the sudden declaration of her marriage. They teased Martin and asked how he felt? Martin could not bottle in the news and took a week off. He left for his home. Till Martin could recover from his broken heart syndrome, Susana was happily married and on her honeymoon with Sid to Mauritius.

In a year, Susana became the mother of a son. As time passed Sid kept busy in his work. She felt there was no more romance between the two of them. Susana wondered if marriage meant attraction for just a year or two. She felt trapped and could not interact with anyone about her situation. Sid behaved as if she did not exist. She finally decided to open it out to Amy, her friend. She requested her to meet her at her apartment. She waited impatiently. Finally the door bell rang, she quickly opened the door.

It was a known face, very friendly yet she failed to recall! Susana, is it you?Martin! "Your voice has not changed" Susana uttered. She did not know what to do. The mobile rang. It was Amy obliging for not being able to visit her because of some urgent work. Martin enquired about her hubby. Susana was in bad shape. She could no longer control her emotions and broke out. Tears rolled down her eyes as she said, "Sid was not devoted to home, her or hearth."

Martin felt his love for her melt, it was a long time but he wanted to recapture his lost love. He suddenly became reserved. He had joined a firm just a few days back. He had come to meet and introduce himself to the neighbours. He obliged, he did not know that she was residing in the apartment just next to his. He left promising that he would visit her as soon as he was back from work.

Susana loved Martin's company and he continued to visit her. Sid was often on business tours and least concerned for Susana or her needs. Susana was thirsty for love and needed a man desperately in her life. She knew Sid was seeing a woman. Nothing was fine between them. But she could not help.

Whenever Martin touched her, she just left herself slip into his arms. She felt solace there. She could find little relief from her restlessness. Martin loved Susana passionately since the college days but never got the opportunity to express his love for her. He was a gallant lover, he kissed her soft full lips, and she smiled and encouraged him to romance with her. She loved to watch his grey eyes turn black as he got desperately closer to her. He dipped his face into her long silken dark brown hair and lazily relaxed his head on her lap. As he did this, she closed her eyes and felt what she had longed for ever since. And what she had missed so long!

The door bell rang; she opened the door! Sid did not take a minute and said, your work is over now! He handed over to her heavy cash and a ticket. He did not bother to enquire about Martin. Susana's face was as white as snow; her fingers trembled as she looked at the cash.

A woman with fair complexion, blue eyes, curly brown hair entered slowly. Tears rolled down Susana's eyes as she started to leave. The fair complexioned lady hugged her warmly and whispered into her ears, "Thanks for being the surrogate mother of my baby boy." Susana felt dizzy and was about to fall on the floor when Martin held her tight, laid her, sprinkled few drops of water on her face. Susana opened her eye, she could not believe if it was her imagination or things were really happening!

As she walked away with Martin she looked back at Sid, he was kissing the baby. She recalled her wonderful honeymoon at Mauritius and asked herself, if it was the first and the last time Sid had danced with her at sunset between the waves of the beautiful blue sea, was she to blame his smoky grey eyes, his alluring touch or was it her destiny, the fake marriage her uncle had planned for her!

Life is not a bed of roses. There are turmoil's through which we all have to go through. We live in a time when we cannot trust our own family members. Yet, it's challenging to embrace life as it comes. Losing hope is not a remedy. The earlier we learn to dance in the rain the better. This story teaches us to walk cautiously in life.
